Practice Background
The Moss Vale Dental Clinic commenced at the current address in The Arcade in September 1967, the dentists at the time being Dr Bill Dawes and Dr Kenneth Pogson.
Since then, other highly regarded members of the local community have worked at The Moss Vale Dental Clinic including Dr Thomas Mackay and Dr Michael Addison. Dr Mackay was replaced by Dr Pino Giusti in 1995 and Dr Michael Addison was replaced by Dr Nicholas Messenger in 2022.
Yolanda Alvarez, our dental hygienist, joined the practice in 2010.
Our Philosophy
We are dedicated to the prevention of dental disease. Our patients have the right to make their own decisions and we believe that a properly educated and motivated patient will achieve their own personal treatment goals.

Current Staff
Almost all of our staff are long term and ongoing professional education and training are a priority. Most clinical staff are very experienced (you’ll see the same faces year after year) and have completed studies required to gain their Certificate of Dental Assisting (Cert III). Further studies keep staff highly skilled and motivated and allow us to care for you better
Some staff have gone on to obtain further qualifications:
- Certificate Four in Dental Radiography,
- Certificate Four in Oral Health Education and
- Course in Sterilising Services (office-based practice)
